I haven't seen this topic in the forum yet, so I'm going for it. In today's article on how to better prepare and protect yourself from heat waves, we don't talk about using geothermal energy to refresh your home.
It is sometimes referred to as a state-of-the-art technological innovation, but the Canadian/Provençal well is a very old piece of equipment. The Provençal well has been in use in the south of France for a very long time. It was mainly used to cool a room during the hot Mediterranean summers. The Canadian well, on the other hand, was originally oriented more towards a warming solution.
It is a form of geothermal energy that brings significant savings in terms of heating, cooling and ventilation needs, real air quality in the home and is very economical to use. It consists of a buried conduit, through which air from outside circulates and is then blown into the house. During this circulation, the air exchanges its calories with those of the earth.
It is often used in Earthship houses.
Thank you for this information @Nicolas.
